Australia has joined the freedom-loving countries of Iran and North Korea on a black-list of net censorship. I've seen a lot of snide commentary about this, but don't think it can't happen to you. France is openly planning the same thing and you can be sure that other Western countries (the USA included) will be watching closely to see what happens here.
The Australian government seems to be refreshingly immune to reason on this topic and seems to be happy to go along with Senator Stephen Conroy's power kick, which he's obviously enjoying immensely. He even thinks he can bully Google and Facebook. I just hope he tries to block Google, YouTube and Facebook and then he will see just what happens when the sheep rise up in anger.
