Every single problem I have can be traced back to my damned insecurity.

I was snappish at my raccoon, because I was annoyed he didn't follow my advice. True, I spent a lot of time crafting that advice, but isn't it enough that I showed I cared? And it got me thinking about everything else I've done wrong, and I grew morbid.

But isn't that a nigh universal truism? Some may conceal it by amassing personal possessions or wealth, many of us try not to think of our insecurities and vulnerabilities.. and indeed, to a degree, some self-doubt is probably an essential part of maintaining introspection. If balance between these various aspects is lost, of course, then there can be problems - self-reflection can be a very good thing (presently unavailable in the political arenas of the US, UK, and Australia), but too much becomes mere navel gazing. (And just what do those born of shelled eggs gaze upon later in life?)

I almost never use this LiveJournal to admit to any problems. Well, I do so now. I have lost my balance.
