How to pack Rattus

In 8 easy steps! I bought a new suitcase in readiness for my trip to America next year, and I wanted to make sure I could fit everything I need into it. Of course, the most important things are Rattus and a Meeko plush.

Step 7

That's amazing. Meanwhile, I can't seem to pack any of my fursuits into anything smaller than a 35-gallon tub.

That's right, only for transport between people's houses. Although the suitcase could quite handily take the uncompressed suit if I don't need room for clothes and plush.

Very good ... but I assume you'll have another suitcase for regular clothes?

The good thing about this one is there's still room for regular clothes, though I'm likely to supplement that with a backpack.

America eh, what are your stops? Any near Oregon?

Sat, Nov. 11th, 2006 08:44 pm (UTC)

I won't be going to Oregon, though I am starting in San Jose, California, for FC. If you can make it down to that?

Sat, Nov. 11th, 2006 08:49 pm (UTC)

My FC plans fell through sadly. I won't be going to FC.

Aww. I'm sorry to hear that. I would have liked to have met you. Other stops include Denver, Wichita, New Jersey and New York.

(Almost too scared to ask.) Reeko?

I look forward to seeing Reeko and his odd dreams. (Does that mean you'll let me sleep with him?)

Meanwhile, poor Red just came back with me in a big cardboard box we found outside an office supply store. And it's still its official panda box. ^_^ Now, of course, augmented with quite a few layers of tape, Fragile stickers, flight routing barcodes, and suchlike.. I wouldn't be surprised all that weighs more than the box itself now. ^_^

Will you have a camera, or even better, a camcorder with you? I really enjoy seeing good video footage in particular, as that way you can see how a character carries themselves, how their tail (and in lapines' and roos' cases, ears) move - it better brings the moment to life. Will you be appearing on stage as well?

*scared* I don't know--will I? I'm not really sure what will happen, but the rat I'm staying with is a fursuiter (he literally wrote the book on the subject) so it's possible. I won't be bringing a video camera--not worth the hassle--but I can always get some done here. I sometimes wonder why I haven't. I do have plans for an exercise video with Rattus, but that's been on the back burner.

I won't get a chance to see you in America when I'm there, will I?

Oh, Nicodemus? Yay! Cool guy. ^_^ Reminds me, I should get the footage we took of Widge and Red taking a wander into the little park near the apartment block then, a few years back. I'm not one for children, normally, but as Red, it's all quite different.. ^_^

Aw! Do consider bringing a camcorder - actual moving footage is worth much more than mere stills. A camera can capture the detail of the look, but that's merely one slice in the character's four dimensional continuum.

An exercise video sounds like a positively excellent idea! Do we need to get ristin on your case about it? =:)

Me? Not really sure at the moment, but probably not, unless I can secure a new contract in the area by then. *sigh* Still, things can change. I'm long overdue for sushi and barbecued meaty goodness in the City, and there's a bunny that needs pouncing too, yonder Sacramento way. If that happened, it'd also be an excellent opportunity to pick up a shiny new (or maybe even a refurb) MacBook Pro to succeed Hyzenthlay..

My camcorder is such a pain in the tail to carry and only works when it feels like it. If I were persuaded to get a new one in the interim--maybe.

Very good. Reminds me of those wooden block puzzles that, once you take them apart, you can never quite reassemble. Fortunately, though, the difference here is that you've got a step-by-step reference! :)

And that's exactly why I did it. I also put this into my memories so I'll be able to find this no matter where I am.
