Cat found?

This is too funny not to share.

EDIT: I should have explained to my American readers that that's a common brushtail possum rather than leave them guessing. Any Australian should be able to recognise it at a glance which is why it's so funny that someone confused it for a cat.

oh... oh dear.

that's just....

In so many ways. That POOR sweet critter (it's a possum, right? - not the Opossums that we have here in the states.) And how could ANYONE think it's a CAT!?!?! ::rolls eyes:: Poor thing.

People are just... strange.

I think you're right. Looks like a common brushtail possum.

Dang, that's too funny. :)

It's an elaborate joke - an example of the Australian sense of humor. It's not the first prank-flyer I've seen posted around. :)

"Not very friendly. I think he might be scared"

My work here is done. You know I've been wanting to get you to wet your pants for me for a long time. ;) (Don't tell Mirwais!)

I was just teasing by the way. I didn't really mean that.

That would have to be the strangest looking cat that I've ever seen, lol if it were actually a cat.

OH.... icon luvs! where did you find or did you make it? ::Snuggles the reading mausy icon::

I found it by using google image search. Had to go through allot of images until I came across it. I've got tons of mouse icons on my other computer, including ones of Maxwellhouse Mouse designs such as the one that you're using.

Thu, Feb. 14th, 2008 10:59 pm (UTC)

You can't fool me! That's not a dog! That's a big growly cat! (To rats, all felines are dumped under the term cat.)

Are there really people that stupid? o.o I mean... there's no shame in not recognising a possum (many people won't be able to do that, no matter whether they're US-Americans or not), but surely everybody should be able to see that this is not a cat...

As Tania said, it may just be a prank. I know this image has been doing the rounds of workplaces in Australia. We speculated it may be some sort of viral meme. I wonder if anyone's brave enough to ring the number? It doesn't sound like a regular phone number so it could be one of toll number scams.

Hmm... you could try calling from a public phone, only putting in the minimum amount required to make a regular call. :)
