Off to MidFur!
Yes, it's true! Tomorrow morning I'll be flying down to Melbourne for what I hope will be Australia's first furry con. (It will be so nice to hear all you Americans say "wish I could be there" for a change! ;) ) Those who are going, I'll see you there!
And on a completely unrelated
issue: Exercise 'improves love rat's performance'
(Not that I need any help in that area, of course.)

Have fun! I indeed wish I could be there! *pouts with jealousy*

I hope Rattus will make a significant appearance and there will be photos galore afterwards. But think before acting - fursuiting during the Australian summer months will, as you know, be very draining, especially if you plan any outdoors photoshoots.
And, of course, the advice of "think of the consequences before you act" can be generally applied to various other convention activies.

Darn, I literally just got back from a week in Melbourne, my first time there in fact and it was amazing, I had such a wonderful time, there was so much to see and do, there was a large gay/lesb population and area to hang out in. If you like bagles, go to Mr. Glicks, it's in the jewish area, I can't remember where, but apparently Glick's has been around for a very long time and the bagles there are amazing... I also found this great place called Lord of the Fries that is all kinds of french fries (chips) as well as hamburgers and chicken nuggets, but it's all vegan. Right next to them was this great donut store too that had american candy bars and made the most faboo peanut butter and chocolate milkshakes.

When you mention that it will be Australia's first furry con I was a bit surprised, but then I looked at Wikifur to find out that previous MidFur's had actually been more furmeet than furcon. I looked at the con website and I see that 2RantingGryphon and Uncle Kage are to be guests. Wow, those guys get around.
Anyway, I hope it's a very epic event for everyone. I'll have a vegemite sandwich with a glass of Yellow Tail Pinot Noir this weekend and be thinking of all of you OzFurs! LOL.

While those are both very fine food products, I am not sure how well they go together. Have you had vegemite?

Yes I have had vegemite often, many years ago, though not for about 6 or 7 years now. Actually I think that vegemite and an herbed sausage go rather well together in a sandwich, especially if the sausage is grilled over a wood fire to give it some smokey flavor. A good ale would be a more fitting beverage with that, but I'm looking for a creative way to support the Australian economy so I'll go with one of your tasty and affordable wines! Have a good time at MidFur and I wish I could be there.
