*shakes his ratty fists of rage*

How much shit do we have to put up with before the gods decree it's enough? On top of all the other crap ristin and I have had to put up with, downstairs gets flooded again. I'm going to make everyone who keeps their shit in our house sign a waiver absolving us from any responsibility for damage to their stuff, howsoever caused.

At least, to my surprise, internet is still working this time. At least for now.

I hear you dude, our place does the exact same thing in heavy rain so to solve the problem i moved into the flooding room. This way, seeing as i own the house, its only my problem and there is no hassle over it :P

Then again, my stuff does unfortunatly get wet every now and again XD

I know you've been having a real problem and I'm not really worried if any of my stuff gets damaged. It's only stuff. I just hope things get better for you.

Your stuff is in the other room so it's all safe for now. Is there anywhere I could get another pie rat t-shirt? Please?

Do you still have the drawing? You should be able to find a place that'll put an image on a shirt for you.

No, I never had the drawing. I bought it from friends of yours at your Talk Like a Pirate party.

What is the cause of the flood? Can it be fixed?

Tue, Feb. 16th, 2010 08:22 pm (UTC)

That's the thing! We can't work it out. Water should just drain. It only happens when there's been a huge downpour; well outside of normal (and "normal" is leaden sheets of rain for Brisbane). My best guess is the water comes at such a pace that the momentum causes it to just skip the drain and go under the door. I think what we need is a waterproof draft stopper. Any suggestions where I could get one?

I figure that Brisbane sits below seal-level? If it does then yes fluid mechanics can fail. As for what to do you may seeabout building a weeping area around where your basement flood drain flows to. Moisture should flow through a pipe that is surrounded with crushed rock to a basin filled with crushed rock and protected from leeching with a vinyl. At least thats what I saw on a home improvement program

Put sandbags in front of the door before the storm hits.
