OCCA Google? Too right!

Google have been developing a strong presence in Australia and word has it that Google Wave was developed primarily in Sydney. (Hopefully that won't discourage them from doing further development work down under.) In a development especially for Australian users, Google have developed Optimise for Colloquial Cultural Articulation for Google Maps. I have a snapshot from an iPhone to demonstrate:

Now that Google Maps is in strine, it will make it a lot easier for we Australians to get around. Hopefully this technology will be expanded to other countries over time. (But let us hope they never get their countries mixed up--it could be tragic if an American got the Australian translation and took the instruction to "shoot through" literally.)

Don't believe me? Ask Google Maps Australia to give you directions.

Hopefully. Computers are supposed to be introducing fuzzy logic and you don't get much more fuzzy than that.

It's not my place to say. But I suggest you make use of it while you can. ;)
