MiDFur and photo sharing

Well, it looks like I'll be going to MiDFur in January 2012 after all. I have space in a room lined up, but I still have to work out how to get there. As a last resort I could always fly down but then it limits what I can take with me. Also, it looks like I will need somewhere to sleep on the night of the 9th as I might be driving back up with ristin.

In other news, I want to keep sharing photos from my European adventures, but I'm not sure how best to tackle it. It should give me at least basic stats (like views), let me sort it into albums or sets or whatever and (more or less) give me unlimited storage. Ideally there should be a plugin for iPhoto so I could export to it directly from that. Both Picasa and Flickr are good, but both impose limits on the number of photos I can have. Any ideas?

Flickr's probably the best option - there's the established social side of it, for one, and it's pretty much the cheapest. There are plenty of alternatives, of course, with options including letting you point your own domain to your account, offering print sales, but they tend to be more expensive - Zenfolio, SmugMug, PhotoShelter et al.

There's LJ's own image hosting too, though I found it rather clunky to use. Most of the time, if I'm including images in a posting, I'll just use my own site - that way, I know I'm not against the TOS of some third party re maturity, or anything else. My photography goes onto Flickr, as it's easily found and enjoyed there, and whilst Flickr's hardly perfect, it's a lot easier than faffing around with installing some inevitably half-baked gallery software.
