Rattus begs

A super model once quipped that she wouldn't get out of bed for less than $10 000 a day. You'll be pleased to hear that Rattus is much cheaper than that (ahem!) but when I go out on the Million Paws Walk in Rattus I will be giving my sweat and tears (I hope not to bleed during the march) for our four-legged friends and I want it to be worthwhile. Let me be clear: I am not too proud to beg. If you have any money you can spare, please visit http://www.millionpawswalkfundraising.com.au/pawsforeffect and donate what you can. All money goes directly to the RSPCA and they look after rats too! If you can't donate, then messages of support and spreading the word is also much appreciated. Thank you so much to those of you who have already chipped in to make sure Rattus marches with pride in May. <3

A cause I am very happy to support, hope the target is met and that the walk doesn't leave you in too much pain :P

Thank you so much! I owe you Rattus cuddles when we next meet.

Yay! I see the total's clicked over to AU$760. =:D

I can add another reminder to my next entry, too, of course, though gods only know if that'll be before the walk, at the rate my posting's going. ^_^; There must be more than a couple folks reading my entries who can spare even a tenner. (It's a bit of a pain when I let a backlog develop, as I'm then in the awkward position of choosing between a GigantoEntry™ and causing everyone's eyes to glaze over, or try hiving it off into multiple postings)

How long is the walk, btw? Dare I ask what kind of temperatures it's likely to be in? ^_^;

I can see it from your readers' point of view. You're asking them to sponsor someone they don't know for an animal charity they haven't heard of in a country they imagine is mostly populated by crocodiles. The amount I've raised so far has certainly exceeded my expectations when I started so I have no complaints. You yourself have been especially generous and plugging it in your entries was more than I expected.

There are two walks; a 1.5km (almost a mile) and a 4km walk. I am assured that we furries will be doing the shorter one but with the generosity I've been shown I'd tackle the longer one if I had to. The Sydney Mardi Gras is about 1.7km and that's no walk in the park in fursuit, but you tend to perform more during that.

Thankfully by mid-May we should be heading towards winter (we're in Autumn now but you wouldn't know it by the daytime temperatures). The Bureau of Meteorology posits a mean maximum temperature of 23.2ºC (73.8ºF) in May but the humidity will still hover around 70%. It starts at 10am. The event is designed for the comfort of humans wearing sensible clothing rather than fursuiters.
