Triumph—but at what price?

I took aldi to Alma Park Zoo, and forever established Brisbane's reputation as the (heavy) 'roo petting capital of the world. But what have I done? He did things which even I found disturbing (read about it on Aldi's journal!) and it forced me to confront just why it upset me. He wasn't upsetting the kangaroos in any way. tzup explained to me that Aldi is casting aside (some) of his inhibitions because he's in a foreign country. The poor thing is also desperate to have the best possible kangaroo experience he can before he leaves the country, whereas I have the rest of my life. That doesn't explain why it upset me. I can only speculate that I'm still so tied up in the social mores of this world. More detail than that would be for ristin only, should he want me to dredge up painful memories.

But on the other hand, Aldi is working on a drawing of me. (Including some LJ icons!) I look so cute! This is the first time I've been officially drawn as a character design. Thank you Aldi!

Other than some mild worries about Aldi's physical wellbeing I'm not sure what's so disturbing about his behavior (unless you maybe had a bad experiance with one). The guy just really likes his roos. I don't blame him, actually, I'm kinda jealous.

Just some bad memories. Echoes of an angry past.
