World Rat Day

swiftrat has alerted me to the fact that today is World Rat Day. I think there's something in that for all of us. Have you tickled your rat today?

Nice site, lots of nice slogans. I think that the ratty needs a day of celebration. And my pets rat's name was Bella too, just like their mascot.

Although, as I mused in ysengrin's entry on the matter, is World Rat an elected or inherited position? Or is it more something you grow into, like Gandhi leading Indian independence?

Ooh! I see it as an 80s Michael Jackson ala Gadaffi look, with maybe a bit of Fidel Castro! The driven paranoid dictator, always afraid some young buck will rise up through the rodent ranks and hand him his tail, just like he deposed the rat king decades ago. (Sadly, rats don't have a very good record when it comes to democracy.)

Too fertile an imagination?

I tickle my rattie girls every night ... well, Summer anyway. Autumn's still too shy for that!
